Many theological schools in the Majority World operate with deep commitment to ministry yet limited institutional intentionality. This article presents a case study of Amanat Agung Theological Seminary (STTAA) in Indonesia and its participation in the Scholar Leaders (SL) Vital Sustainability Initiative (VSI). The study explores how a guided coaching process enabled the seminary to move from activity-driven management toward discernment-based leadership. Through institutional self-assessment, collaborative interpretation, and strategic formation, the seminary developed a five-year strategic plan that reshaped its leadership culture, academic direction, financial sustainability efforts, and partnerships. The article also discusses implementation challenges and identifies transferable lessons for theological institutions seeking long-term sustainability. This article argues that strategic planning in theological education functions most fruitfully not as administrative management but as communal vocational discernment that shapes institutional culture. |
